POSITION SUMMARY
The Life Group Administrative Assistant provides administrative, systems, communication, and logistical support for the Life Groups Ministry. This role assists Life Group leaders and volunteers throughout onboarding, training, group launch, and ongoing ministry participation while maintaining accurate ministry information and records. The Administrative Assistant supports recurring classes, events, and ministry projects and helps ensure leaders and volunteers have timely information and resources. Through organized and responsive support, this position contributes to effective ministry operations and Christ-centered community.

Life Group Administration & Systems
- Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support for the LifeGroups Ministry, maintaining organized records, forms, leader information, and ministry documentation
- Maintain accurate LifeGroup, leader, member, meeting, location, schedule, and group information within Planning Center Groups and Church Center
- Assist with group setup, updates, visibility, attendance, member management, and other routine administrative functions within ministry systems
- Provide systems support to LifeGroup leaders and volunteers, troubleshoot routine issues, and connect with technical support when additional assistance is required
- Prepare reports, track ministry activity, and support special projects and initiatives as requested by ministry leadership
Leader & Volunteer Onboarding
- Provide administrative support for the LifeGroup leader and volunteer onboarding process from initial interest through approval and ministry-specific onboarding
- Assist prospective leaders and volunteers with required application steps, interviews, documentation, training, and follow-up requirements
- Track onboarding progress and partner with Volunteer Onboarding to monitor completion of required background checks, references, Child Safety Training, interviews, and other established requirements
- Schedule interviews, communicate application status and next steps, and maintain accurate onboarding records
Leader Development & Ministry Support
- Provide administrative and logistical support for LifeGroup University (LGU), leader training opportunities, and other leader development initiatives
- Prepare training resources and communications, assist with registration and event logistics, and track completion of required training and post-training documentation
- Provide ongoing administrative support and resources to active LifeGroup leaders, including ministry updates, conversation guides, announcements, deadlines, and group-related information
- Support LifeGroup launches, seasonal initiatives, leader campaigns, and special projects, following up with leaders as information or action is needed
Events, Classes & Volunteer Coordination
- Support volunteers serving at LifeGroups events, classes, trainings, and special projects by communicating assignments, schedules, expectations, and required resources
- Provide weekly administrative and logistical support for the Young at Heart Class, including ministry space preparation, teaching materials, supplies, volunteer support, and related needs
- Assist with LifeGroup events, leader gatherings, church-wide initiatives, and ministry campaigns, including registration, rooms, materials, signage, schedules, volunteers, and other event logistics as assigned
Communications & Ministry Support
- Draft and distribute ministry communications, reminders, invitations, follow-ups, announcements, and approved resources for leaders, volunteers, applicants, and LifeGroup members
- Respond to general LifeGroup inquiries and help connect individuals with appropriate groups, ministry resources, or staff members
- Assist with approved LifeGroups social media and promotional content in partnership with ministry and communications teams
- Collaborate across departments to promote consistency and effectiveness in LifeGroup ministry processes, communications, and initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
- Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and administrative processes
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide responsive, service-oriented support
- Ability to work collaboratively with ministry leaders, volunteers, members, and cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and information
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and initiative in resolving routine administrative and systems-related issues
- Ability to provide organized administrative and logistical support for volunteers, events, training activities, and recurring ministry processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Planning Center, Church Center, volunteer management systems, or similar ministry platforms preferred
- Ability to learn and effectively utilize ministry technology, communication, and administrative systems
- Professional appearance and conduct
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in administrative support, ministry support, customer service, or a related environment preferred
- Experience with church ministry, volunteer support, group management systems, or event support preferred
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time, 35-hour workweek. Regular schedule includes Sunday ministry responsibilities and weekday office hours. Specific schedule and onsite expectations will be established by department leadership based on ministry needs. Additional hours or schedule adjustments may be required for special events, trainings, and ministry initiatives.
