South Valley Optical (SVO) is our onsite optical office, serving employees and their families with personalized, high-quality eye care in a collaborative environment. 

We’re looking for an experienced, people-focused manager to lead SVO operations, partner with the optometrist, support team development, and deliver an exceptional patient experience. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and making a meaningful impact through high-quality care and strong operations.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional experience for patients, team members, and partners through consistent, high-quality service
  • Lead day-to-day clinic operations, ensuring efficient workflows, strong execution, and alignment with department and organizational goals
  • Partner closely with the optometrist and cross-functional stakeholders to support clinic performance, patient care, and business outcomes
  • Lead, onboard, coach, and develop team members while fostering an inclusive, accountable, growth-oriented environment
  • Coordinate with internal testing teams and research partners while maintaining compliance and operational standards
  • Support clinic and corporate events, including trunk shows, AIS activities, and other engagement opportunities
  • Maintain clinic equipment, software, and workflows to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations
  • Manage frame inventory and vendor relationships to maintain product availability, accuracy, and cost awareness
  • Support optician duties as needed, including pre-exams, eyewear fittings, and patient education
  • Use EHR systems to manage orders, scheduling, invoicing, payments, patient communication, and HIPAA compliance
  • Use data, observations, and team feedback to identify and implement process improvements that strengthen operational excellence, team effectiveness, patient experience, and clinic performance
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • American Board of Orthodontics Doctor Certification (ABO) is preferred; or equivalent optical and leadership experience
  • Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and inventory management
  • Strong verbal, written and active listening skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Sound decision-making, leadership, and coaching skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to process improvement and operational excellence
  • Good communication skills to interact with employees and all staff (verbal, written, listening)
  • Strong knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) computer systems, OPD, Visual Field, OPTOS, Tonometry, and OCT machines
  • Strong knowledge of eyeglass lenses, how to complete successful quality inspection of lenses
  • Strong knowledge of insurance application, and billing
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • The ability to lead, develop, and support team members
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both individual and group settings
  • Manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment 
  • A service-oriented approach that builds trust and confidence 
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving processes, efficiency, and team performance
  • Follow department and company policies and help the team do the same
  • The ability to build strong relationships with patients, vendors, and leaders across SeekWell
