Responsibilities
~1 min readAs our Office Manager, you'll serve as the central hub of department operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and excellent service.
- Oversee daily office operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with City policies and NM Procurement Code
- Supervise and support assigned staff, seasonal workers, and volunteers
- Assist with hiring, scheduling, training, and performance feedback
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the public
- Respond to inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and care
- Manage park and facility reservations
- Assist with budget preparation and track expenditures
- Process invoices, maintain financial records, and generate reports
- Manage payroll records and timekeeping
- Coordinate social media, website updates, and marketing materials
- Help promote programs and events that bring the community together
- Maintain accurate files and databases
- Ensure compliance with public records laws and retention schedules
- Support audits, procurement, contracts, and grant tracking
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of administrative or office management experience (municipal or Parks & Recreation experience preferred)
- Strong organization and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Financial and administrative proficiency
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently
- Typing speed of 60+ WPM
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Financial systems (Tyler)
- Civic Plus (website/CMS)
- Canva or Adobe (design tools)
- Teams / Zoom communication tools

This role operates primarily in an office setting with occasional physical activity including lifting (up to 50 lbs), walking, and standing. Reasonable accommodations are provided in accordance with ADA guidelines.
This position may require occasional errands (valid driver's license preferred) and eligibility to become a Notary Public.
